These are both my Front Cover and Contents Page.
I wanted my magazine to be appealing and different, so i used a pop art effect, to make it eye catching.
I advertised pages that relate to students and make them want to buy the magazine to read about it. Both my front cover and contents page include only my own photography, and my front cover does include a medium close-up as told. I also used the REF - Magazine Hyperguide to help me find certain effects on photoshop.
My contents page is designed using photoshop, using browns and oranges, to relate to the autumn edition theme that my magazine will be based on. I placed several pictures onto the main picture and used the rubber to remove the background and placed them on, and gave the pictures placed around the main image a see-through effect using the opacity scrollbar.

Really, really nice effects! It's a pity they don't work too well together as the 'house style' is lost. Nevertheless, both styles are really strong with a clever use of the conventions. Take care not to obscure the typefaces though...some parts aren't quite so clear.
